WHO ARE WE

Welcome to Jump Ball Academy, We are a basketball academy that provides skills and development training to youth from the ages of 5 - 16. Jump Ball Academy is led by head coach James Schuster. Our purpose is to provide the coaching/mentoring needed to cater to the growth of basketball within Hamilton and New Zealand. Our ultimate goal is to help kids fall in love with the game of basketball whilst developing their skill sets, basketball IQ and athletic ability. At Jump Ball Academy we promise to help all our athletes reach their true potential whilst providing a safe and family friendly environment.

JAMES SCHUSTER

James Schuster has over 10 years experience playing, and has been coaching intermediate - high school level basketball for 6 years. James has a huge passion for working with youth on and off the court, working as an Inclusive Learning Assistant at Rototuna High School. His role with the school involves helping students overcome their learning difficulties as well as tutoring them through their academic standards. James launched the basketball program within Rototuna High School in 2016 progressing towards 40+ players under his coaching program. Mixing the love of basketball and working with young kids, he has launched Jump Ball Academy.

James is a qualified trainer with a Cert 3 and Cert 4 in health and fitness,
